Tyson Fury lays out hit list: Deontay Wilder, Dillian Whyte, Anthony Joshua, and Derek Chisora

Tyson Fury lays out hit list: Deontay Wilder, Dillian Whyte, Anthony Joshua, and Derek Chisora:Tyson Fury sat down with BT Sport on Wednesday for a 15-minute interview ahead of his October 9 trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder, and laid out in pretty torrid fashion his plans for his next five fights — after which he plans another brief retirement.

“I’m going to destroy Wilder in (October), and then I’m gonna take a fight in December because of all the inactivity. I don’t think the Joshua fight’s gonna happen in December,” Fury began.

“So here’s what me bucket list is. I’m gonna fight Wilder on October 9th, I’ll fight Dillian Whyte back in the UK for the first time in years at a stadium up in the north, Manchester or something in December. Let’s get a date in December. I’ll shut that bum right up, that’ll be an easy one. And then I’ll fight Joshua in March in Saudi Arabia, let’s do it, and then we can have a rematch in the summer back here at Wembley.

“And then I’ll go out in me last fight, that’ll be about, however long, two years, and I’ll fight Derek Chisora. That’s five fights, yeah? And then I’ll take two years out of the ring, just going absolutely nuts again, and I’ll come back at 37 and wipe the floor with whoever’s next. Because it’ll take two years to build someone up.”

As for the upcoming Wilder fight, Fury has not changed his tune.

“I’m going to knock him spark out. I’ve told you that, I’ve said it before, and I said it before that. I’m going to wipe the floor with him. One-sided fight. One-sided.”

A few things worth mentioning:

Dillian Whyte is currently set to fight on Oct. 30 in London against an opponent to be named. Maybe Whyte would scrap those plans to fight Fury in December, but realistically he’s probably not going to fight on Oct. 30 and fight Fury in December. And it would also be a risk for Whyte, because he would have to be thinking it’s guaranteed that Fury beats Wilder again on Oct. 9, and no matter what anyone thinks of the odds, that is not a guarantee. Wilder is dangerous.
A two-fight Joshua deal should happen next year, yes. The most likely course of action is Joshua fighting Oleksandr Usyk on Sept. 25, Fury fighting Wilder on Oct. 9, and if they both win, they line up the fight for next March or so.
Derek Chisora is a weird shout given that Fury has beaten him pretty handily two times, in 2011 and 2014, and it’s not like Chisora has become some top contender since then, but hey, maybe he just likes fighting Derek Chisora. I mean, he’s pretty good at it. Also Derek’s always fun, really, so there are certainly worse ideas for what would be, in this plan, basically a farewell.
No mention of the UK’s Joe Joyce, who is 35 years old and about as ready as he’s going to get, but Fury’s mind is going a mile a minute here and the whole thing is seriously unlikely to come off in this exact manner anyway, but then he’s predicted a few things people didn’t see coming.
